List 46.0.4

The whole point of task manager apps is to help you enhance work efficiency and productivity. Dealing with complex tasks, usually require fairly complex apps as well, but sometimes, the best way to maximize productivity is to stay in that “flow state” as much as possible.

One of the best ways to ensure that is, of course, is to not get distracted. That’s exactly why sometimes, just sometimes, the simplest methods are the best.

List is a free and open-source Linux task manager that was designed with that specific philosophy in mind.

Since this is such a simple app, it’s better (we think) to point out that this is not an app designed for those who prefer most modern task manager apps. With List, you don’t get cloud synchronization, the ability to organize tasks, to add due dates, or notes, for that matter.

List is exactly that – an app that allows you to make a list of all your tasks, and nothing more. You just add new tasks or to-dos, you remove the completed ones, and that’s it. Oh, and you get to choose between two GUI themes (Light and Dark), or you can opt for “System,” in which case the app will automatically change in accordance to your computer’s system theme.

It’s a rather gorgeous little app, despite it being stripped down to the bones. It looks really well on most modern Linux distributions, and as long as you don’t expect anything more than it can offer, we can see it being a good companion for users who prefer utmost simplicity.

As far as task managers go, List is definitely one of the most stripped down. If you’re after features and you like to organize tasks in a complex manner, then List is definitely not for you. However, if you just require a task manager that will NEVER (and we mean never) distract you, then List could potentially be perfect.
