Bitnami Horde Stack is a free and multiplatform software project that has been designed from the ground up to provide users with an out-of-the-box, native, easy-to-use and easy-to-install solution for deploying the Horde software and its runtime dependencies on desktop computers or laptops running a GNU/Linux or Mac OS X operating system. Please note that this stack is not available for Microsoft Windows platforms.

What is Horde?

Horde Groupware Webmail Edition is an open source, freely distributed, web-based and enterprise-ready communication suite. With it, users will be able to read, send and organize email messages, as well as to manage and share contacts, calendars, notes and tasks.

Installing Bitnami Horde Stack

To install Horde on your personal computer using Bitnami’s native installers, simply download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

Run Horder in the cloud or virtualize it

Thanks to Bitnami, users are now able to run Horde in the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image that’s compatible with either Windows Azure or Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers. Additionally, Bitnami offers a virtual appliance based on the latest stable version of Ubuntu, designed to help you virtualize Horde on Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX, ESXi virtualization software.

The Horder LAMP/MAMP modules and Docker container

Besides installing Horder on your personal computer, virtualize it or run it in the cloud, it is also possible to deploy it on top of an existing LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) or MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack product, thanks to the Bitnami Horde Module product, which is available for download on Softpedia, free of charge. A Horde Docker container will also be available for download on the project’s homepage.
