Bitnami TestLink Stack is a free and multiplatform software project, an all-in-one solution that aims to greatly simplify the deployment of the TestLink application and all of its dependencies on a computer. It can be deployed using native installers for all mainstream operating systems.
What is TestLink?
TestLink is an open source web-based test management application that facilitates software quality assurance. It offers support for test plans, test suites, test cases, test projects, user management, as well as various statistics and reports.
Installing Bitnami TestLink Stack
As expected, Bitnami offers native installers for the TestLink application. They are compatible with all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as with the Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems. To install TestLink on your desktop computer or laptop, simply download the file the corresponds to your PC’s architecture (64-bit or 32-bit), run it and follow the on-screen instructions.
Run TestLink in the cloud
Besides installing TestLink on your PC, you can also run it on the cloud using the pre-built cloud images offers by Bitnami for the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting services, as well as to virtualize it using the VMware/VirtualBox virtual machine images based on the latest LTS release of Ubuntu Linux.
TestLink Docker container
In addition to the cloud images and virtual machines, Bitnami also offers a container for the highly acclaimed Docker development platform. Be aware though, that the Docker feature from Bitnami is still in Beta and will require you to sign up for it.
The Bitnami TestLink Module
Besides the Bitnami TestLink Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a module for the Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server, which allows you to deploy TestLink without having to install its dependencies. The Bitnami TestLink Module is available for download separately on Softpedia!
