Live Raizo 9.18.01.14

Live Raizo is an open-source and completely free operating system based on the Linux kernel and derived from the award-winning and highly acclaimed Debian GNU/Linux distribution. It can be used for network simulations, as well as for general system administration operations.

The OS supports 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms

Being distributed as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image, the operating system can be deployed on either a DVD disc or a USB flash drive of 1GB or higher capacity, supporting the 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.

A multilingual and persistent Live DVD/USB network simulator

The Live DVD/USB image contains a custom boot prompt that supports multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. There are two boot options for each of the supported languages, normal boot and persistence mode.

The persistence mode can only be used if you’re booting directly from a USB thumb drive and will allow you to save files during the live session and reuse the bootable medium whenever you want.

The user must manually start the graphical desktop environment

The operating system has been instructed to drop users to a shell prompt when it is booted using either a DVD discs or a USB stick. From there, you must type the “startx” command (without quotes) in order to access the graphical desktop environment, which is powered by Openbox and uses a single-panel layout.

It contains simulators of systems and networks

As mentioned, the main emphasis of Live Raizo is on network simulations. Therefore, it contains a bunch of simulators of networks and systems, such as Oracle VirtualBox, Qemu, GNS3 and VPCS (Virtual PC Simulator).

The Wireshark network scanner, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Geany integrated development environment and advanced text editor, Xpdf PDF document viewer and XTerm terminal emulator are also included.
