From the creators of the powerful Proxmox Virtual Environment operating system, we introduce the Proxmox Mail Gateway project, a Linux kernel-based distribution derived from the highly acclaimed Debian GNU/Linux OS and designed to protect your computers from email spam and viruses.
Features at a glance
Key features of Proxmox Mail Gateway include advanced spam detection, daily reports, attachment blocking, virus removal, blocking of phishing emails, support for standard computer/server hardware, as well as advanced statistics.
In addition, the operating system offers support for SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) and SCSI RAID, includes an object-oriented rule system, provides automatic update of virus signature database, secure web based configuration, and automatic installation within minutes.
Distributed as a 32-bit, installable ISO image
The Proxmox Mail Gateway project is distributed as a bootable, installable-only ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for 32-bit (i386) computer platforms. Users can write the ISO image to either a CD disc or a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of their PC.
At the boot prompt, wait a few seconds for the installer to appear or simply press the Enter key on your keyboard. The Linux kernel and all other components will load, allowing you to install the distribution on your personal computer.
Installing Proxmox Mail Gateway
To begin installing Proxmox Mail Gateway, you should first accept the license agreement, select the target device for the installation (must be an empty disk) and configure the network. The rest of the installation process is automatic, so you won’t have to partition your disk drive or do any other administrative tasks. When the installation finishes, press the “Reboot” button to restart your computer and boot into your Proxmox Mail Gateway OS.
