A free music playback application that supports a plethora of digital audio formats
Qmmp is an open source and cross-platform project that provides users with a dedicated and modern audio player application. It supports a wide range of audio file formats and runs well on GNU/Linux, FreeBSD and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Supported digital audio file formats include MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Ogg FLAC, native FLAC, Ogg Opus, WMA, PCM WAV, MIDI, ADTS AAC, Musepack, WavePack, Audio-CD, Monkey’s Audio, and a plethora of tracker modules and chiptune formats, such as VTX, AY, VGZ, GBS, VGM, GYM, SPC, HES, SAP, KSS, NSF, NSFE, MOD, S3M, XM, IT, and many others.
The program also comes with several DSP effects, such as BS2B effect, sample rate converter, LADSPA effects, extra stereo, crossfade, projectM visualization and spectrum analyzer visual effects, as well as output support for ALSA, PulseAudio, JACK, OSS4, and WaveOut.

While the program has been written entirely in the C++ programming language, its graphical user interface has been designed using the cross-platform Qt GUI toolkit. It depends on a wide range of open source programs.
Qmmp is available for download as a source archive, but it also provides users with binary packages for the Arch Linux, Fedora, Gentoo, Mageia, PCLinuxOS, openSUSE, Slackware, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Pardus, Mandriva, ALT Linux, AgiliaLinux, and Debian GNU/Linux distributions.
