Getting started with The Legend of Edgar

The Legend of Edgar can be easily installed from the official software repositories of major GNU/Linux distributions, through the built-in Software Center app. While it is available for download only as native installers for Debian/Ubuntu-based distros, you can get the source package for other Linux kernel-based operating systems.

It’s quite easy to install the game using the source package. So, download it, save it on your Home folder or directly on the Desktop folder, unpack it, open a Terminal app, go to the location where you’ve unpacked the archive file (e.g. cd /home/softpedia/edgar-1.19) and run the ‘make’ command to compile the game.

Unfortunately, you can’t run the game directly from the source directory, so make sure that you execute the ‘sudo make install’ command to install The Legend of Edgar system wide and make it available to all users on your machine.

Runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X

The Legend of Edgar is a cross-platform game that runs on all mainstream operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. We’ve successfully tested the game on computers supporting either of the 32 or 64-bit CPU architectures.
