XPQ4 is an open source desktop theme that implements the Windows look and feel for the Q4OS Linux operating system. This XPQ4 project will transform your KDE desktop into a veritable Windows 2000 lookalike desktop.
Getting started with XPQ4
In order to install XPQ4, you should use the Q4OS desktop. Download and save the self-extracting XPQ4 installer on your desktop, double click it from the Q4OS file manager and follow the setup instructions.
Change the system color scheme to “xpq4_wxp” via the control panel (keep in mind that it will take no effect for QT4 applications), and install the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package from the official Q4OS repository, if you want to use Times, Arial and other Windows fonts.
Availability and supported OSes
The project is available for download as pre-built binary packages that allow anyone to easily install the theme on their GNU/Linux distribution no matter the architecture used (32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms are supported at this time).
It has been specifically designed for the Q4OS Linux distribution, but it should work with any other Linux kernel-based operating system that features that KDE Plasma graphical desktop environment.
