Bitnami Jenkins Stack 2.107.3-0

Bitnami Jenkins Stack is a free and multiplatform software project that provides an all-in-one, native installer, which greatly simplifies the installation and hosting of the Jenkins software on personal computers. It is also distributed as cloud images, a virtual appliance, LAMP, WAMP and MAMP modules, as well as a Docker container.

What is Jenkins?

Jenkins, previously known as Hudson, is an open source and freely distributed web-based application designed from the offset to act as a continuous integration server. Built with Java, it provides users with over 400 plugins to support building and testing virtually any project.

Installing Bitnami Jenkins Stack

The native installers distributed with Bitnami Jenkins Stack have been created using the BitRock InstallBuilder tool, which means that they are designed to work on any GNU/Linux distribution. To install Jenkins on your personal computer, download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit and 64-bit), run it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run Jenkins in the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, users are now able to run Jenkins in the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers.

Virtualize Jenkins or use the Docker container

Besides running Jenkins on the cloud or install it on your personal computer, you can also virtualize it. thanks to Bitnami’s virtual appliance for VMware ESX, ESXi and Oracle VitualBox virtualization software. A Jenkins Docker container is also available for download on the project’s homepage.

The BitNami Jenkins Module

Unfortunately, Bitnami does not offer a jenkins module for its Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack, Bitnami WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack or Bitnami MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack products, which could have helped users to deploy the Jenkins application on their computers, without having to deal with its runtime dependencies.
