Evolution EWS is an open source and freely distributed software project that contains an extension for the Evolution email, calendar and groupware client that adds support for Exchange Web Service (EWS). This plugin allows users of the Evolution application to add Exchange email addresses.
Autodiscover service
One of the interesting features of the Evolution EWS plugin is the autodiscover service, which provides the necessary configuration information to easily setup a connection to an Exchange server. The autodiscover functionality allows users to use old-school XML (POX) messages, which comprise of XML payloads that don’t include any enclosing SOAP envelopes, to locate the required settings needed for successfully connecting to an Exchange server.
Installing Evolution EWS
The Evolution EWS package can be easily installed on any GNU/Linux distribution where the Evolution application is supported, simply by using the package provided in the default software repositories of your distribution. It can also be installed manually on any GNU/Linux operating system using the universal tarball provided by Softpedia on the dedicated downloads section above.
