MakuluLinux is a freely distributed and open-source GNU/Linux distribution derived from the acclaimed Debian and Ubuntu operating systems and designed from the offset to offer a unique desktop experience in the style of Windows Aero.

Supports only 64-bit systems

The Aero edition of MakuluLinux is currently distributed as a single Live DVD ISO image that contains packages optimized only for 64-bit (x86_64) hardware architectures and can be written on either a USB flash drive of 2GB or higher capacity, as well as a DVD disc.

Automatic boot with optional menu

When booting the MakuluLinux Aero operating system from the preferred bootable medium (see the section above for details), you will notice that the live session starts automatically in ten seconds if you don’t do anything.

Pressing any key during the 10-second timeout will reveal the boot menu, which lets users to boot an existing operating system from the local drive, access advanced options like the ability to start MakuluLinux in compatibility or recovery modes, and to check the integrity of the bootable medium (only if booting from a DVD), as well as to reboot or power off the PC.

Designed for Windows users, built on top of Cinnamon

Immediately after booting the OS and the live session is fully loaded, Windows users will feel like home. The unique desktop environment of MakuluLinux Aero has been designed from the ground up to look exactly like the user interface of the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

Linux experts can immediately recognize that, in fact, MakuluLinux Aero uses a custom theme that imitates the Aero style of the Windows OS on top of a default Cinnamon desktop environment.

An overwhelming collection of software and applications

MakuluLinux Aero delivers a great, overwhelming collection of software, and we did not expect any less.
