XClicker 1.3.2

XClicker is a free, open-source, and remarkably easy-to-use auto-clicker developed specifically for X11 Linux desktop environments.

The app is written in C and uses the GTK framework, so it not only looks modern, but it’s also blazing fast. It also means that the app will adapt its looks per the GTK theme your system is using.

Features at a glance

Even though it’s a simple app, XClicker has a lot of nice features up its sleeve. For instance, it allows you to choose the mouse button used for the automation action (left, middle, or right-click). You can also choose the click type (single, double, or hold).

Another great feature is the fact that you’re provided with the option to tweak the interval between each mouse click. XClicker is capable of repeating actions until stopped or repeating only a limited number of times after certain actions are met.

You can also fully randomize the click interval. Last but not least, the app also features a safe mode (which should keep your system as safe as possible). Of course, you can start or stop the app via a custom hotkey.

How capable is it?

Clearly, XClicker is not the most feature-packed input Automator app out there. Nevertheless, for such a compact app, it punches well above its weight.

In terms of clicks per second, according to the developer, the highest number is 750 cps (within a 1-millisecond interval). Please note that with a 0-millisecond interval, the focused app/desktop environment may potentially freeze.

Verdict

If a fast click automation app is what you’re after, then you can’t really go wrong with XClicker. It’s easy to use, fast, lightweight, and has enough features to perform the basic actions required from such an app.
