YOGA Image Optimizer 1.1.1

As its name clearly states, YOGA Image Optimizer is a tool for converting and optimizing image files. While the name might seem a bit strange, it has to do more with the command-line tool it’s actually based on (YOGA Image), and nothing with the ancient practice of Yoga, as we all know it.

YOGA Image is a command-line tool based on a library that can convert and optimize JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats, as well as do the same for 3D models from various formats such as glTF and GLB.

In short, YOGA Image Optimizer is a GUI for YOGA Image and is capable of shrinking and optimizing the sizes of JPEGs, PNGs, and WebP image files without substantial loss in quality.

Feature rundown

The way YOGA Image Optimizer works is fairly similar to other tools of this sort out there. You load the images you want to optimize and you click the optimize button.

If you want a bit more control over the whole procedure, you can click a specific image (which will bring up a menu at the bottom of the GUI), and select the specific output format, some quality-related options (in the case of JPEGs), the location for the output file, and the maximum size (you can customize the dimensions of the photo).

The whole package works really well as it allows you to optimize/shrink scores of photos and images with no more than a few mouse clicks, and even convert them according to your preference with not much extra effort. From the Settings section, you can also choose the number of threads, and between a few GUI themes as well.

Conclusion

While it may not look as fancy as other more-serious-looking apps of this sort out there, YOGA Image Optimizer is a nice little app that works as intended, as it allows you to use the YOGA Image tool in a more friendly manner (thanks to a simple and nice GUI).
